Using an A3 sheet of paper divided into four A5 sized rectangles draw four Designs one in each A5 rectangle. Use as much of the rectangle as possible as this will be the same size the wooden board you will be given i.e. 210mm x 147.5mm.Each design should be a sketch of your idea with labels describing the parts and the type of material.
Evaluate each of the four designs according to your design specification and choose the design which best fits the specification. You should justify each design saying why you think it would be a good or not so good choice for your final toy.
(The above should be completed by the end of Lesson 7)
Choose one Design which matches your Specification best. (the specifications are the Essentials and Desirables in Investigation). Look at each of your two designs and say which one you think is the best and matches all the essentials.
Then see if it matches most if not all the desirables. This will be your final choice and the design you will make.
Say WHY your choice fits the specification. Make a list of all the reasons why you think your chosen design is best.
(The above should be completed by the end of Lesson 8)
State how the design you have chosen will link to the Area of Interaction and the Unit Question.
Look at the AOI you have chosen and see if it is a good match to what you are doing.
Look at the Unit Question and say if your toy will answer it.......... (Unit Question: Can wood be fun?)
(The above should be completed by the end of Lesson 9)
Use Lesson 10 to go over your DESIGN, make any corrections and
EVALUATE YOUR PERFORMANCE IN THIS CRITERION
