Welcome to Teaching Practice!
As you know teaching practice is your time to shine by putting all your professionalism and class concepts into action. I hope it is a fruitful and rewarding TP, and I look forward to working with you. TP can be a time to make a difference in the lives of students.
Here are some critical requirements for TP:
1. Being to school 15 minutes before school starts
2. Staying in school for the full day even is the MST leaves early.
3. Informing MST and MCT for lateness and absences.
4. Emailing lesson plans 24 hours in advance.
5. Sending a text the night before stating the location and times of the lessons.
6. Providing a detailed map of the school's location
7. Being in the lobby to meet your MCT.
8. Communicating, communicating and communicating any issues and problems.
9. Experimenting with new ideas.
10. Having fun and implementing class concepts
Year 2: Your focus is good reading lessons the focus on the three-stage reading process: Preparing readers for comprehension, monitoring comprehension, and extending and deepening comprehension. Please see this document for more details.
Year 3: Your focus will be teaching grammar and writing. Please see this tutorial to help you: http://zibdawritingprocess.weebly.com/
You should try to teach the writing process and grammar lessons that have a communicative function. Remember, whenever we teach grammar, we make it communicative. Students need practice using the grammar. Please see this document for more details.
*Finally, remember that your grade is determined by ALL activities on teaching practice, not just the your lesson observations. Ability to communicate, reflect, show positive attitude, get involved with the schools, organize and, of course, teach are some of the important factors.*
Signing up for your visits:
I use a shared spreadsheet so you can sign up easily. The sheet is set up as a first come, first serve. This means you should begin making arrangements with your MST for the visits as soon as reasonably possible.
Basic considerations:
Please spread the visits out. There needs to be time between the two lesson. Try to have your first visit happen early and have a minimum of 5 days in between visits.
Simply fill in the information on the spreadsheet; this is a "live" document and does not require you to save changes. Click here to open and edit the document. Please follow the instructions on the document.
I wish you an excellent and learning-rich teaching practice.
