Reynaldo O. Joson, MD, MHA, MHPEd, MSc Surg
Part of the Programme in 2012 Asian Medical Students’ Conference
July 9, 2012; 2-4 pm
University of Santo Tomas
Overview:
There will be 25 medical students (mostly 1st-2nd year level from different Asian countries) per seminar-workshop.
The seminar workshop ideally consists of a short lecture and some practical application/workshop module which the students can participate in.
Terminal Learning Objective:
At the end of the seminar-workshop, the participants must be able to demonstrate skills in creating digital slides for a medical presentation.
Enabling Learning Objectives:
To know the do’s and don’ts in creating word, table and picture slides that are commonly used in medical presentation.
Given samples of word, table and picture slides commonly used in medical presentation, using the general criteria of clear and clean, determine which are considered unwanted ones and, therefore, should be avoided. Corollary to this, determine which ones are preferred based on the criteria of clear and clean.
Given a text for medical presentation and a pool of picture slides, prepare a 6-minute presentation in consideration of the requirements for clear and clean digital slides.
