"Why K–12 Teachers Need to Know About ESL Grammar Issues," as the title suggests, describes the importance of considering grammar issues when teaching ELL or ESL students. It explains what grammar issues are, it gives examples of common issues, and describes some difficult concepts like verb tenses. I chose this artifact because because it provides a lot of useful information. It explains why this issue is important for all teachers, it gives examples of what a teacher may encounter in their class, and it provides some useful strategies for ways to help students. Understanding this is incredibly important for anyone teaching ELLs, whether its an ELL class or mainstream. Grammar mistakes are something teachers are going to encounter, and it's not always clear the best way to support the student. This article explains why all teachers, K-12, should consider how grammar issues come up in their classrooms.
