Silician Circles

INSPIRATIONS: This workshop is inspired by the love of learning and sharing it.

SKILL LEVEL: Suitable for beadweavers ready to extend themselves. Must have familiarity with the basic beadweaving stitches and/or patience to learn them.

STITCHES: In this session we will explore ways to embellish peyote circles, learn how to make an embellished Chenille stitch circle and different ways to securely join the circles together and to the cabochon to make a statement necklace. We’ll use design principles and processes to a necklace design that is personal to you.NB: This is not a project - it is a process. We'll use some simple tools and several design principles (balance, proportion, contrast, unity, harmony, movement and emphasis.) to design the statement necklace - you can bling it up or down, make it simple, make it complex, make it large or turn it into a bracelet. You’ll need to come to the session with some base components already made.

BEFORE THE SESSION: Bring with you up to 5 peyote circles or more already made in the colours of your choice (see colour guide below) . HOWEVER do not zip them up and leave your working thread on. If you need a pattern for making the circles please email me – I’ll send you instructions.Make the peyote circles in 2 or 3 sizes threading between 20 and 36 beads to start the circle.

REQUIREMENTS LIST: This is a great session for using up your bead stash. There are some essential base beads and then beyond bring what’s in your stash.
