INSPIRATIONS; The history of Square stitch is unclear. Its origins have been linked variously to England in the 1500s and to Russia, Ukraine and the Malay Straits in the 1800s. This bracelet is a very contemporary use of the stitch to echoes its unknown flights through time and place to the present day. It is part of the Echoes Collection, designed by Glenda Mac Naughton as The Bead Society of Victoria Featured Artist, 2013.
