This textbook can be a challenge.
There are lots of resources that you need to master... video, audio, presentations, lots of different textbook sections, two websites (DavesLL & MyEnglishLab), study quizzes, unit tests and proficiency assessments.
Here are my suggestions for success ...
"Teamwork makes the dream work".
If you enjoy working by yourself, that's fine.
You can also try making a study group or finding study partners.
Collaborative learning can be more meaningful with less work and stress.
A combination of the two styles would work too.
It's up to you.
Get the overview.
Have a quick look at the textbook, the resources and the Websites.
Do you understand the layout and how things work?
If yes, then great. If not, then ask me (or another student) for help.
If you prefer to pick things up as you go along, no problem.
Make a start.
It's not that bad once you get started.
Most students seem to do DavesLL first and then MyEnglishLab.
The order doesn't really matter.
I will send out email reminders if I think you need help.
Do all the coursework assignments on DavesLL.
Do all the unit tests and proficiency assessments on MyEnglishLab.
I'll post a link to the Contemporary Topics 2 assignments tutorial in the transcript below.
Ask me or a study partner for help anytime you need it.
Contact me anytime, by email or especially during Zoom classes.
Ask lots of questions.
Finish all the assignments; check your grades and celebrate.
Remember, you can choose any style of study that works best for you.
