Cross-curricular project
DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT
This time, in teams of 2 or 3, you will create a comic strip with four or six panels and a game to play with your classmates based on what we have studied in this unit, World War I.
We will work from different subjects: English, Ethics and History.
Each group will have to work on the following historical aspects of this period:
Causes of the conflict
Alliances
War periods
Consequences of the conflict
Influence on art (Expressionism. Die Brücke: Nolde, Kirchner, O. Müller, Otto Dix, Grosz...Blaue Reiter: Kandinsky, F. Marc, P. Klee, O. Kokoschka, A. Macke...)
COMIC STRIP
In the comic you have to include the following elements:
1. Four panels or illustrations in a square or rectangular frame
2. Title with the name of your comic or story.
3. Speech balloons, which contain what a character is saying.
4. Thought balloons, containing what a character is thinking. They usually have the shape of a cloud.
5. Sound effects, which are words that describe noises or sounds.
6. Credits including the names of the writers and artists.
7. Captions, which are words that are not in speech or thought balloons usually in a square or rectangle, will not be included in your comic strip. But you will have to write one caption for every panel introducing the comic or giving background information about your story.
