I am excited whenever science validates what our grandmothers around the world already knew. It is great to have scientific evidence and explanations for why foods are prepared a certain way and why ingredients paired.

Examples:

  • Cruciferous vegetables should be chopped and left standing for a precursor enzyme that aids digestion to be activated OR they can be cooked together with mustard seed. Indian grandmothers always sizzle a handful of mustard seeds with turmeric and cabbage. See the research, Nugget learned from Michael Greger MD, author of How not to die
  • Lectins that can really irritate your system are mostly destroyed by pressure cooking. (This nugget learned from Steven Gundry MD, in the book The Plant Paradox)
