Notes on Jean Baptiste Creely

• The only proof that he is the son of Jean Baptiste Creely and Elizabeth Delisle Bienvenue is in the disbursement of his father's estate in 7 June 1839, which lists him as the (likely deceased) son of Jean Baptiste Creely.²
• Because of the fragmentary nature of parish records in Kaskaskia, Florissant, and St. Louis during the time his parents lived in those places, it is unknown where and when this Jean Baptiste Creely was born.

2. St. Louis Probate Court case #01058. In the disbursement of the inheritance on 7 June 1839, one of the seven shares goes to two of the "children of Baptiste Creli." This is extremely strong circumstantial evidence that their father, John B. Creli, is the son of Jean Baptiste Creely, who must have been dead by 1839.
