At the Sioux Council, a staff event included completing the Gallup Clifton Strength Finder. Out of thirty four signature themes, the strength finder identifies a person's top five strengths. My top five strengths are:
Positivity - In general, people with the "positivity" strength are always on the lookout for the positive in the situation. Some call them lighthearted, but they are nearly always energetic and optimistic. People want to be around them because their enthusiasm is contagious. They like to celebrate each achievement and find ways to make everything more exciting.
Belief - Those with the "belief" strength have core values that are enduring. They are family-oriented, altruistic, spiritual, and value responsibility and high ethics - both in themselves and others. These qualities give life meaning and satisfaction. Success is more than money and prestige. Believers are dependable and easy to trust.
Includer - People with the "includer" strength want to include others and make them feel part of the group. They are instinctively accepting of people, and cast few judgments. Includers believe that fundamentally, we are all the same and equally important.
WOO - Winning Others Over. Those with this strength enjoy the challenge of meeting new people, and are not intimidated by strangers. They are good at building rapport with others.
Maximizer - In general, people with the "maximizer" strength transform something strong into something superb. Excellence, not average, is the measure of a "maximizer". They are fascinated by strengths, whether theirs or someone else's, and search them out. They don't want to spend life bemoaning what they lack. Rather they want to capitalize on the gifts with which they were blessed.

Team Building - I am able to put together and build teams, promote the team concept, and rally the team together to accomplish common goals. I can work with many types of personalities.
Determination - Focus on the common goal. Stay with the project to the end. Don't give up until all possibilities are exhausted.
Empowerment - I believe in coaching and sharing the vision, then turning power over to others to get the project done. I stand back and let others complete the project, but I'm willing to step in and guide or coach if the project gets off track.
Problem Solver - Gather information before jumping in to solve a problem. Analyze different points of view before proceeding. Take responsibility for actions and solve problems that are my responsibility to solve. Stay cool under pressure.
Flexible - I am able to maintain daily focus while meeting unexpected interruptions. When necessary I drive halfway across the state on a moment's notice to be of service. I can adapt to changes in work schedule and assignment, and am willing to set other tasks aside to deal with more urgent matters.
Organizational - I arrange tasks, materials, and schedules in a logical way, and develop tools to help myself and others stay organized.
Multi-Tasker - I can work on several projects at a time and still be successful.
Customer Service Oriented - Dedicate whatever time is required, and go out of my way to be helpful to meet the needs and expectations of internal and external customers.
Managerial Courage - I have learned the necessity of making the tough decisions to protect council integrity.
