Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to gain experience in many aspects of fundraising and finance.
Here are some additional successes I have had in raising money to support Scouting:
Friends of Scouting
Field team achieved 100% FOS goal in 2024
Raised $350k between Sept 2021 and March 2022 to eliminate council debt (Save Our Scouts campaign)
2021 - FOS at 100% of goal
Leadership Breakfast in the Black Hills grosses $75k to $85k annually
2017 - Increased contributions by 13% over 2016
2016 - Increased contributions by 2% over 2015
2014 - Two districts reached goal on April 10th and third reached goal on May 6th, all with increases over 2013
2008 to 2014 - Service Area raised approximately $112,000 between the 3 districts
Popcorn Sale
Black Hills Area Council increased gross sales to $435 thousand dollars in 2019
Jayhawk Area Council gross sales of approximately $440 thousand dollars
Led highest gross popcorn sale at the Sioux Council at nearly $1.5 million dollars in 2014
20 Under 40 Event
Involved in the annual 20 Under 40 fundraising event to recognize 20 professionals in the Topeka, Kansas area.
Sporting Clays Shoot-Out Special Event (Sioux Council)
Led the Sporting Clays Shoot-Out Committee from 2006 to 2014
Shoot-Out raised $25,075 gross in 2006, increasing to $45,000 gross in 2014
Increased lead sponsor from $5,000 to $10,000
Increased the number of teams from 23 to 38
Committee started with 8 members, and increased to 11
Committee members included Presidents and CEOs of major corporations in the area
Project Sales
Materials for various building projects at Medicine Mountain Scout Ranch donated by area business including: retaining wall block, siding and doors
Secured $1,500 value in food for camp from Reser's Fine Foods in 2016 & 2017
Secured $2,500 from local business to purchase Bug Vacuums for fall recruitment in 2016
Council Budget
Facilitated creation and managed the $3.8 million budget at Bay-Lakes Council in 2024
Achieved $352,000 net income in 2024
Projected to end 2025 with a $250k net income.
Paid off line of credit in Black Hills and did not draw my last 1.5 years
Paid off line of credit in Bay-Lakes in 2024, have not drawn in 2025
Led budget process at Black Hills Area Council 2019 to 2023
Involved in the Jayhawk Area Council budget process from 2016 to 2018
Led the 2014 and 2015 Sioux Council budget process from start to board acceptance
Camping Budget
Oversaw camping budget process for Bay-Lakes Council camps in 2024
Returned $220,000 to council operating budget in 2024
Set Black Hills Area Council camp budgets 2018 - 2022 ($500k)
Net income of $150,000 to the Black Hills Area Council in 2021
Jayhawk Area Council camp budget ($150k) 2016-2018
Sioux Council camp budget ($300k) from 2006 to 2015
Net income to the Sioux Council ranged from $70,000 to $130,000 annually

Involved in the Jayhawk Area annual golf tournament 2015 to 2017

Worked with United Ways in transition to the impact funding model (Topeka, Black Hills)
