During the course of my career I have had the opportunity to recruit individuals to our Council Board. I have also worked with many Board members on various committees and projects.
It is important to make sure the Council Board is representative of the whole Council. I have found that including rural areas of the Council is a challenge that requires constant attention.
I worked with an Executive Board of 27 members in the Black Hills Area Council. During my time at the Black Hills Area Council, I recruited 19 new board members, increasing diversity in gender, ethnicity, age, and geography.
As an Assistant Scout Executive at Jayhawk Council, I worked with our Nominating Committee to recruit four new Board members. I also worked personally with those four and three others on a regular basis.
"Corey was an excellent leader and helped grow our council's programs and fundraising. He has an easy going style but also knows how to get serious when required".
