Whats new???
All new water was added on February 10th. 12 gallons of tap water was added to our system at 570ppm and 8.1 pH.
We learned about germinating seeds and watched this How its Made Video on Hydroponic Lettuce
We have germinated more basil seeds. 6 were germinated in the dark and 6 the light. Check out the results! They are very interesting... The one on the left is are from the dark. The ones on the right are from the light. Oh and the dark ones are 3 days older! than the light ones!
The PPM is way to high (1570ppm) but it came up from 570ppm because of the Acid that had to be added to lower the pH to the acceptable range.
"Hydroponic Experts" said to drain half of the water in the reservoir and add just tap water back in! Sounds like a job of my Hydro Helpers!
We have had inconsistent numbers for the height of the plants each day. We may have to design a solution to this problem!
We will soon start taking our data on an iPad! This will automatically update spreadsheets and charts!
We have a long way to go for our system to be perfect.... More to come...
