Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) Hydroponic System
This system pumps nutrient solutions from a reservoir to a grow chamber(typically a tube or trough). The nutrients flows through the bottom of the grow chamber and creates a thin "film" (rather than inches deep) on the bottom of the chamber.
Advantages
Disadvantages
Fresh nutrients is constantly being delivered.
Does not require a timer
Best for smaller plants (Lettuces and herbs)
If a power outage occurs, roots can dry up
Tends to produce long roots.
