Students and parents,
Tomorrow night, WMS is having "Parent University" for launching BYOD and Google Drive (more details below).
I would love some student volunteers to help me demonstrate and showcase Google Drive and Socrative in the STEM Lab. Ideally I would like a dozen or so students but whatever number I get will be greatly appreciated!
Students who participate may have the opportunity for some extra credit points in one of the next quizzes or tests.
Please email ASAP if you or your student are able to help with "Parent University". Students can participate for some or all of the time. Students can bring in a note or let me know in class also.
Thanks for the help and I am sorry that this is last minute!
Happy Memorial Day!

Parent University: BYOD, apps, and Google Drive! Tues, May 27; 6:30 – 8 pm. Please join the BYOD committee for an information and “hands on” activity night on electronic devices, apps, and experience how WMS is implementing BYOD with our students. The evening will begin with a short introduction in the Media Center. Parents will then be able to visit various classrooms to see demos and participate in various activities. We will have different types of electronic devices available such as tablets and IPOD touch for parents to use during the different demos.
Sessions include:
Axis 360: Learn how to browse and download free ebooks from our FCPS Axis 360 Digital Library onto your personal device.
Explain Everything – An unique interactive whiteboard and screen casting tool.
Zondle : Zondle is a multi-platform, educational gaming application which allows teachers to engage students through play and competition. Students can participate individually or as groups, and can even create their own games. The formal is based on neurological research and is highly successful.
Socrative: Socrative is a smart student response system that empowers teachers to engage their classrooms through a series of educational exercises and games via smartphones, laptops, and tablets.
GoogleDrive: free way to keep your files backed up and easy to reach from any phone, tablet, or computer.
