Students and Parents,
Thanks to the crazy weather, we are running a little behind but I am confident that it will all work out! Here is a few updates.
Grades:
All "Chapter 1 Review Questions" that have been submitted, have been graded. If students do not have a grade for this assignment, it was not received and still can be turned in for credit.
I started grading "Types of Technology" assignment. I have 120 student projects I must grades, so please be patient. They should be all graded by the end of the week (with weather cooperating).
Lesson:
We have started talking about "Effects of Technology". This is to help students learn/realize that technology effects culture, economics, environment, politics, and society. We had multiple scenarios and roles that were used to introduce these types of effects.
Assignment:
Students are now working in new groups of 3-4 to identify effects of specific technologies. Students are using guiding questions and the internet to find/identify these effects. Student organize their findings into a simple PowerPoint. This project is an in class assignment and must be done by the end of the week (with weather permitting)The Rubric for this assignment can be found below...
Hydroponics Student Helpers:
I have recruited 4-5 students from each class to help with our Hydroponics System. These students will help me with multiple tasks in monitoring and maintaining our system (including data gathering and class demonstrations). Our first assignment is to clean out the system to start fresh! If students would like to stay after school until 3:30-3:45 tomorrow (Feb 5), I would gladly accept their help! Please have the students email me or bring in a note that they are aloud to stay and that transportation is arranged.
Keep up the great work!
Stay warm,
-KTS
