What to expect when you refer a patient to Specialty Behavioral Health
We have a very small department and are not able to serve all of the patients who request services. When we are unable to serve a patient, we always offer to help them find appropriate services in the community.
Our decisions are based on careful consideration of the best interest of the patient in accordance with professional ethics. The central question is whether we can competently provide a patient with appropriate and timely services. Please be aware that we are not capable of providing crisis services for newly referred patients. Our Referral Coordinator is available to consult with patients, providers, and members of the community regarding finding appropriate care. Call 541-754-1288.
It is very helpful when our referring providers let their patients know that our Referral Coordinator will assist them with finding appropriate services, and that these may or may not be available from a SBH provider.
If you have questions or concerns about these matters, please let me know.
