Spring Ornithology 2025
Would you like to know more about our local birds? The Cayuga Bird Club will again be offering our popular course, Spring Ornithology with Steve Kress.
This 8-week course is perfectly timed to help people identify spring migrants and better understand bird behavior. Each weekly meeting features a group of birds that are at the peak of their spring migration, with discussions about bird song, migration, courtship, family life, and conservation. The course concludes with one of Dr. Kress’s specialties: how to create a bird-friendly habitat on your own property. Each presentation is enhanced with bird song recordings, videos, and gorgeous photos. The class level is suitable for beginners, but seasoned birders also will learn many gems of info about birds they thought they knew.
For 2025, classes will be held on Tuesday nights, March 18 through May 13 (no class on April 29), from 7 to 9 pm, at Kendal at Ithaca and simultaneously on Zoom. Busy on that evening? Classes also will be recorded so you can watch (or review) them at your convenience.
The cost is $125 per person, and includes a membership in the Cayuga Bird Club. This course also makes a perfect gift for your favorite birder.
