Youth Birding
Fall 2023 Youth Birding Programs
Youth Birding Returns this fall! This club is open to youth who are interested in birds. We will have a variety of trips and workshops that will give youth opportunities to explore all things birds: natural history, identification, careers related to birds and conservation activities.
Youth do not need to attend all sessions- please let Beth know if you will be attending sessions! Thanks!
Youth should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle each day. Binoculars and field guides are also encouraged, although we have some to borrow if needed.
Saturday, September 30: Montezuma trip. Van leaves CCETC at 9am SHARP and returns to CCETC at 3pm (We can fit 12 youth/family members--please reserve a space with Beth). We will have a tour of the Montezuma area, along with the youth group from that area. Youth should bring a lunch and snacks.
Sunday, October 22, 9am-11:30am. Meet and pickup at Stewart Park near the Cascadilla Boathouse. We will do some birding and learn about Conservation projects there.
Saturday November 18 9am-11:30am: Cornell Raptor Club Visit at CCETC. The Cornell Raptor Club is bringing birds of prey!! We will learn about them and have time for questions as well. We may start off with a local walk to see what birds are out and about, depending on weather.
Saturday December 2, 9am-11:30am (at CCETC). We will do some local birding if weather permits, and explore some games related to birds.Â
Register for the above programs at the CCETC Rural Youth Services website, or contact Beth Bannister at bab47@cornell.edu.
