The Cayuga Bird Club Inc., founded in 1913, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing its members and the community at large with opportunities to learn about birds, local birding localities, and the environment. The CBC has a rich history and is composed of a diverse group of people from various professions and backgrounds, whose common bond is a keen interest in the observation and preservation of bird life.
The Cayuga Bird Club’s membership and its educational and conservation activities are enriched and strengthened by the contributions of people with diverse experiences, perspectives, lifestyles, and values. We strive to provide opportunities to learn about birds and their conservation and habitats to people of all backgrounds and communities. We are committed to fostering an inclusive organization and increasing the diversity of our club’s members, officers, and volunteers.
Members and non-members may attend field trips and monthly meetings, though the club encourages everyone to become a member. Annual membership dues are $15 per household or $10 for students.
To purchase or renew membership, or to make a donation, see our membership page.
The club has a Conservation Action committee, working on projects to enhance habitats for birds and other wildlife in local areas.
A monthly club newsletter is available that lists birding news from around the basin, upcoming field trips and numerous other items of interest to local birders and environmentalists. This is automatically emailed to all members; non-members can download it from our website.
Members-only benefits include:
participating as a committee chair or officer
voting on club elections, budget, club projects or changes to bylaws
