In general, the Area Coordinator oversees the group of Area Leaders and organizes high level activities for the overall count. The CBC club is blessed by having developed efficient data collection and submission practices over the years and from working with a delightful group of very capable, experienced and steadfast Area Leaders and participants, which has distributed the overall "lift" for the Area Coordinator. The coordinator is responsible for directing new volunteers to participate in the count by assigning them to areas where they are most needed and connecting them with the appropriate Area Leader. The Area Coordinator communicates with participants before, during, and after the count to provide updates, answer questions, and share results.
Specifically, the Area Coordinator:
Confirms with Area Leaders in late October if they will again lead their area (including feeder counters)
Provides updates for the club website and November newsletter
Check back in around Mid-December to ensure each Area Leader has enough volunteers for coverage, is aware of the count protocols (e.g. what data to collect, recording hours & miles)
