Costa Del Sol

Torre del Mar Camping Almanat

A large FKK site on the outskirts of Torre del Mar directly adjacent to the beach. It has a friendly efficient staff and we have spent several months there over 3 visits.. The pitches are all hard standing of varying sizes, many now have the option of a bathroom and washing up sink with very hot water, power to the bathroom is not metered but caravan hook up is.

The one sanitary block is well equipped and constantly cleaned though the day.

There are two pools one of which is indoor, a small shop for essentials and a bar that serves breakfast.

The restaurant is on the beach and textile in the evenings.

The beach is naturist and used by locals too who use a paid for parking area, consisting of sharp grey grit it is not the best feature of the area but the mountain backdrop to the coast is spectacular.

There is as is an off road cycle way to the town and Mercadona supermarket making it especially convenient for those without transport

Extremadura

Benquerencia Caceres Camping Las Grullas

A small adults only site in rural surroundings midway between Caceres and Merida . There are 30 large pitches but the self generated electricity supply (4amps) will probably support less . Well laid out with farm land both sides where sheep are reared for milk production. The large pitches are hedge separated and mostly level . Dish and clothes washing is in a converted chapel building , good standard showers and toilets attached to the main building. A small infinity pool has a sun terrace with shade and sunbeds. Free WiFi in this area.

The site is situated on the road from Valdefuentes to Benquerencia and both are easily cycled to. Valdefuentes has a number of small shops, bars and restaurants and weekly markets on Tuesday and Friday .

Dutch owned and run, its a delightful place to relax , good bird-life and very dark nights .

Well located to visit other towns in the area and break a journey to the South.

Many visits of between a few days and 2 weeks.

Open April to October.

Note

Do not follow SatNav instructions that may take you into Benquerencia with very very narrow village roads. From the North do not take the first sign to Benquerencia but follow signs from Valdefuentes.

Due to its size would advise booking or calling ahead as there are no other sites close.

Portugal

Alentejo

Monte Naturista O Barăo

Dutch owned and run the site has a mix of residential plots and camping pitches well spaced out in attractive rural surroundings. The site has a sort of "club" atmosphere with a bar, small pool and occasional restaurant . A resident baker bakes to order overnight. All spending cash free and settled on leaving.

We found the atmosphere friendly and visited twice, however it is remote and 30+ kilometers from the coast .

The final approach can be a bit off putting as it is about 2 km up an unmade road and behind large gates, enter by the pedestrian access and report to the bar. Very friendly welcome

A large site in the Landes Forrest adjacent to its Atlantic beach (guarded in season). Pool complex, shop, restaurants and sporting facilities. Surf school on site

The pitches are distributed around several areas each with sanitary blocks and mostly shaded. Separate pitches for motor homes with firmer ground.

There is evening entertainment but due to the size of the site its not intrusive to anyone seeking quiet.

Good on site shop but butchery counter only starts mid June, nearest supermarkets 6km Moliets et Mar or 8km Leon.

Good off road cycle tracks

Istria, Poreč

Naturist Camping Ulika

Camping Ulika is a very large naturist site north of Poreč on the shore of the Adriatic. Pitches are mostly marked and hedge separated but there are also open areas of undefined pitches known as "free camping" (not free of charge!). The site has shopping , bakery ,restaurants and take away and combined with fruit and veg stalls in the approach road it would be possible to remain on site without visits to the nearby supermarkets in Porec. The beach is rock and there are steps down into the water at several points along the about 2km sea front.

Naturism has a long history in Croatia and before that when part of the old Yugoslavia and as a naturist destination I don’t think it can be beaten. There are several other naturist sites in the vicinity but we have been happy to return 6 times to Ulika .

It is very popular with campers from Germany and Austria and remains quite busy until mid September.

Almost the entire area closes first week in October in spite of the still being plenty of custom but its undeniable th the weather takes a predicable turn late September to cooler and wetter days.

Note

Dogs are allowed in a specified area at the top end of the site

Open April - October
