BGC won the Sivewright Quaich for the second time (previously in 2013). On a beautiful afternoon in the Prestonfield sunshine, our team of Richard Duncan & Martin Hunter and John Dunn & John Notman won the final against a strong Caermount team, all of whom were single figure handicappers. With both matches all square after 10 holes, both of our teams were getting their last strokes at holes 11 and 12. They made good use of them by being 2up and 1up on the 13th tee.
The main difference between the teams seemed to be on and around the putting green. While BGC were neat and tidy, Caermount failed to capitalise on their chances and in the end it turned into a relatively comfortable 3&2 success. Richard and Martin were all square after 17 holes, while the Johns were 3up after 17.

07/06/16 - BGC won their first match in this year's Sivewright Quaich with a 4 & 2 win over Mount Vernon. The first pair of Murray Sykes and Craig Taylor were 3 down after 6, but rallied to square their match at 18. Martin Hunter and Richard Duncan got off to a flier and were 4 up after 4. They maintained that lead after 17 holes.
27/06/16 - BGC progressed to the semi-final of the Sivewright Quaich by beating Heriot’s 6&5 at Mortonhall. Craig Taylor and Murray Sykes were 3 up after 16 holes, while John Dunn and Martin Hunter were 3 up after 15 holes.
01/08/16 - BGC won through to the final of the Sivewright Quaich after defeating Ethicon at Mortonhall. John Notman and John Dunn finished 4 up after 16 holes; Richard Duncan and Martin Hunter finished 4 up after 14 holes to make the overall result an impressive 8&6 win.
