Putting

The annual Putting Comp took place on a warm Thursday, 14 August.

From the 16 golfers who battled it out over the 3 rounds of 9 holes we had clear semi finalists:  C Taylor v K Roy  & S Graham v R Miller.

Craig forgot to head the warning of 'beware the injured golfer' & Kenny sneaked past on the back 9 to reach the final. In the other semi there was nothing in it until the final 3 holes, when Stevie steam rolled a few good putts to edge through.

After a quick refreshment (Stevie) and while the rest of us tucked in to our Pizza (including some golfers who didn't order food 😀😀)  the final got under way.

Stevie 'feeling refreshed' took a 3 hole lead after 9 holes, but again 'the warning' was not heeded ..... Kenny fought back to only 1 down with 3 to play and proceeded to ace the long downhill 16th (7th ) and having picked his ball out of the hole he then had to watch as Stevie then followed him in with an Ace of his own! Try as he might Kenny could not get another hole back and so this year's Champion is STEPHEN GRAHAM. 

In the ladies final Catriona Niven played a solid round of putting to defeat Margaret Jack and so get to polish the ladies trophy for the next 12 months.

We retired to the clubhouse thereafter for a couple of beers / footy on the television / good banter re the Sivewright Semi Showdown what's not to like?
