I would like to have an adjustable governor in my car to limit how fast it goes, maybe a dial on the dash board that can be set on the fly. I'm surprised there has never been a feature like this in a car before, it just seems like having that type of control would be nothing but helpful.
One time while driving on the interstate, after a slight distraction I looked down and noticed I was going almost fifteen miles an hour over the speed limit, of course I slowed down to the appropriate speed right away and didn't experience anything negative from it. It did concern me that I was able to do that involuntarily, even though I am a professional driver, I am still aware that this is not only against the law, but also very dangerous.
If I had a dial or something that could be set to whatever number I want, and my car would not go above that number (in mph/kph of course), I could avoid ever having something like that happen again. There could even be a locking mechanism that allows you to be the only one who can control it......that way anyone else driving my car would not be able to go too fast in it.
With all of the technology these days, this should be a standard thing in cars..............I mean, I'm sure it's already possible today......if you have an extremely expensive, ridiculously complicated, OBDII super computer
I am talking about a front-and-center control interface, whether it be a knob, or a couple buttons.........or whatever...........there's no reason why this shouldn't be in vehicles at least as an option.......
and I guarantee that one of the first things I am going to hear will be............"why don't you just use cruise control"
and my response to that will be............"I don't really use cruise control, except on road trips, or really long drives"
