The Plan Commission meets quarterly and as needed at 6:00 p.m. at the Barksdale Town Hall, 29025 E. Ondossagon Road, Ashland, WI 54806.  Public notices with meeting agendas will also be posted at the Town Hall, Lakeshore Drive and the town website.

- COMPREHENSIVE PLAN MEETING - 

On September 8, 2025 at 6:00pm the Town of Barksdale Comprehensive Plan Commission will meet in the Barksdale Town Hall. The agenda will include discussions of the following: • Evaluation, recommendations and planning on the 2025 and 2026 Town Picnic • Bono Creek Road update with discussion on the status of the Town Transient Merchant Ordinance #2025-01 and the Town of Barksdale citation ordinance #2025-02 and possible planning for future improvements

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PROCESS

The Comprehensive Planning process addresses issues and opportunities; land use; housing; economic development; transportation; utilities and community facilities; natural, agricultural and cultural resources, and implementation, based upon state-wide requirements for planning and input from a countywide steering committee. In 2008, the Town of Barksdale began the process of preparing a Comprehensive Plan that  looks forward for the next 10 years. It is an integrated examination of our Town; how we manage our strengths and resources, our natural and cultural setting and systems such as utilities and transportation, and how we provide for future needs and maintain a good community for our citizens.

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN COMMISSION

A Comprehensive Plan Commission meets as needed to update the Comprehensive Plan, to hear requests for rezoning and permits, and to review preliminary and final plats and certified survey maps and concept plans prior to submitting approval or denial to the Town Board.
