HELP! WE NEED HELP!

Dear friends and supporters of AAP and Athens Pagan Pride Day,

We love putting on Athens Pagan Pride Day, but putting it on is not always easy. Not only does it cost a certain amount of money, as has been mentioned before, but it also involves labor. On the day of the festival, we have to load a large amount of stuff into various cars and trucks, take it down to College Square, set up 2 large tents, traffic barriers, and signs and organize and distribute our material. Then we have to run the festival which consists of lost of fetching and carrying, money-handling, record keeping, question answering and more stuff. And then, as it gets toward midnight, we have to break it all down, load it back on to trucks and cars and take it back where it belongs. And we take a lot of pride in leaving our venue in better order than we found it.

There are only 6 or 9 people who show up regularly and some have physical limitations and some of us (ahem) are getting old. What I’m saying is WE REALLY NEED HELP. We need volunteers to help us load, unload, set up break down, fetch and carry and generally do the ordinary work that goes into putting on a festival.

If you can and will help us next Saturday, Oct. 7, please let me know. We will begin loading up about 11. We will begin closing College Square and setting up at 1 p.m. The festival proper begins at 5 p.m. and ends at 10. We have to be completely and absolutely gone by midnight.

If there is anyone out there who is willing to lend a hand at any of these time periods, please let me know by replying to this post or emailing me at embreisoldfather@gmail.com.

Blessed Be, Jim (Embreis), Volunteer Coordinator.
