In January 2026, I developed a CxLL recognition method that uses just the visible stickers of the UFL, UFR, and UBR corners. The UBL corner, LUF sticker, and BRU sticker aren't involved. Click the link above to view the document as developed for CMLL. CMLL prediction should be easier here than in other recognition methods because there are always three corners visible while solving the last pair and those corners provide the necessary information to determine the case while solving the last pair. This may be considered as a sub-concept within Straughan recognition, but I decided that it deserved its own page so that it can be more easily noticed.
There has existed for a while what's called "three sticker recognition" for CMLL where first the U color sticker orientation is found then three specific sticker locations are checked. That isn't the same as the three corner recognition presented here because in the U orientation plus three sticker recognition all four corners are involved where the UBL corner is still used in some cases and the user still checks or mentally pictures the four corner U sticker orientation. In three corner CxLL, just three corners are used in every case, the UBL corner is never involved, and there is no overall four corner U sticker orientation.
