Born and raised in war time Liverpool, England in 1940, John Lennon was a guitarist, singer, song writer and activist. In the year 1960, along with 3 friends, John cofounded a band called The Beatles, which became the most influential act of the rock era. in 1970 John left the band and started a solo career. Selling well over 20 million albums, John songs spoke of Love, Equality, Imagine A World Without War and Give Peace a Chance. He was killed in 1980.
