MY DRUM SPEAKS THE VOICE OF MALCOLM X
Born Malcolm Little in 1925, Malcolm X was an African American Muslim minister and human rights activist. After losing both parents by the age of 13, Malcolm ended up in a series of foster homes, until he went to prison in 1946 at the age of 20. While in prison he became a member of the Nation of Islam. By many, Malcolm was considered the most courageous advocate for the rights of blacks. Unlike Martin and Ghandi, he was known to preach violence. Assassinated in 1965 at the age of 39, he has been called one of the greatest and most influential African Americans in history.
