CREATIVE THINKING & WRITING
This practice is designed for the viewer to use his or her imagination. Take time to look beyond
the surface into the depth of the painting, connecting shapes and assembling colors to create
images throughout the painting. The more you look at the painting, the more you begin to see
and realize the unlimited possibilities within the painting....What do you see in the painting?

THE MAN
There is a man. He always wears a colorful coat. Some people think he has a secret. This man has a tie and only one eye. Now he definitely has a secret. This man has different personalities and different voices. We all know he has a secret now. The mans secret is that inside his coat, there is a woman who is trapped inside. No wonder he has a different personality.
MATTHEW S (B)
THE COLORFUL MAN
There once was a colorful man,
He had a number of fans.
He wore a tie
and had two eyes.
There was something wrong,
His colors were too long.
He turned his colors
into mothers.
With a crazy hat,
He finally laid on a mat.
MATTHEW VAN (B)
As always he's lounging around,
Nothing to be seen,
Nothing to be found,
However this painting does mean...
What does it say?
This man is in
Toward the end of the day
I'll tell you what I know.
This man is a king
For yet I see his ring
That means he has a wife
And will love her for the rest of his life.

THE WEIRD GUY
One time I saw this man in the supermarket with one eye, a big nose, a mask and short black hair. He had a weird frown when he looked at me. He had a nice black and white tie. The man had a elf hat in his hand. I got his address. On Tuesday I went to his house. When I got to his house, as soon as he saw me, he kicked me out. I saw him the next day and I asked him what he had on his forehead. He said, "it was a tatoo and that nobody liked him." I asked why? He said, "because everyones afraid of me." I said, "your not ugly, your very handsome."

THE MAN WITH THE MIXED UP CLOTHES
One day there was a man and he wanted to buy some clothes. So he went to the mall downtown. He spent 1 hour in the shopping center but he liked everything so he bought everything in his size. The next day on his first day of work he didn't know what to wear so he wore all his clothes. He wore a tie, a suit and some other clothes. He was known as the man with the mixed up clothes.
MASSAI (A)
BLACK'S AND WHITE'S
What I see in painting A are Blacks trying to get the same treatment White's got. I see Rosa Parks Boycott Bus. If Rosa Parks moved, then Martin Luther King wouldn't have gave all those speeches about Black's and White's getting together. What I'm trying to say, is that if it wasn't for all those people standing up for Black's, we wouldn't be here with White's and Black's in school together
MAYWIN (B)
MICHAEL
Michael was a strange boy. He was black but he had a white friend named Jake. Jake's mother hated when Michael played with Jake. For Michael there were so many restrictions. He hated it. Twenty years later he told everyone that everyone should be treated equally. He was arrested and put in jail but remained happy. 50 years later he was released from jail.
CHASE (B)
AN INCORRECT BODY
There was a kid named Daniel who was ordinary like other people. There was only one thing wrong with him, his parts weren't put in the right spot. His arms were inside his body, and his legs were used for arms, and he had to hover around and only had one eye. His parents never liked him. Then one day someone decided to adopt him and he said, Thank You!

THE DAY SHE LEFT
In this painting a man got married. They moved to Mount Vernon, New York. His wife had to drive to Washington for her job. While driving a stranger hit her about 20 times with his car. She was rushed to the hospital with few cuts but was fine. Her husband was happy that she was Ok and said Thank You!
