Bob Marley was born in Jamaica in 1945. He was a singer, song writer, muscian, activist and reggae artist, who achieved international fame. Starting out in 1963 with the group The Wailers, he became known for his distinctive vocal style and lyrics, that resonated with audiences worldwide. After surviving several assassination attempts on his life, Bob was diagnosed with melanoma cancer in 1977, Marley died on May 11, 1981 in Miami at the age of 36.
