for adults and $20 for concession holders. After discussion, the increase was determined to
apply to 2027.

7. Junior Chess League Report
The Australian Junior Championships held in January 2026 had been very successful.
Securing suitable venues for events had become more difficult, with Campbell High School
increasing fees, and no Autumn Boot Camp had been held.
The ACTJCL is considering bidding to hold the National Schools Team Championships in
December, with Marist as a possible venue. There was discussion on what was required to
submit a bid. It was suggested an initial enquiry be made to the ACF.
It was reported the ASTJCL web site needed updating. One issue involved it being rehosted.

A,CT Chess Association
Treasurers Report FY 2025
The ACT Chess Association continues to hold a solid financial position at the end of 2025. For our
normal operations we made a loss of $897.55 on a yearly turnover of $19,842.55 The main cause of
this defecit was an increase in the cost of Public Liability Insurance, which was extended to cover
the clubs as well as the ACTCA.
Otherwise out activities were almost revenue neutral, including the costs of organinising the ACT
Championship, Lightning Championship, Teams Championship, ANU Open and Vikings
Weekender.
Nonetheless I am recommending an increase in the membership fee to $30 (Adults) and $20
(Concession) to cover the increase cost of Liability Insurance.
