A North Vietnam Air Force MiG-21 was shot down by a VF-142 Phantom II, piloted by Lt Guy H. Freeborn, with LTJG Robert J. Elliott as Radar Intercept Officer. Weapon was an AIM-9B Sidewinder infrared guided air to air missile.
