Naviance Student is a comprehensive website utilized to help with college and career planning. Naviance Student is a product of Naviance Succeed. All students have an account to access this website. Naviance accounts are connected to your individual Shorewood gmail account. Please login using the single sign on option. Do NOT enter a username/password.

Completing the Resume on Naviance Student/ Requesting Letters of Recommendation
1. Log into your Naviance Student page and click on the “About Me” tab on the top of the page.
2. Under “Interesting Things About Me” click on “Resume.” Complete the Objective with information you would like your letter writer to focus on. Complete all other sections that pertain to you (Summary, Work Experience, Education, etc). The more info you provide, the better.
3. Print your resume and give it to teachers (1 or 2) when you ask them to write your letter. Do this between May 15th and the end of the school year.
4. After teachers agree, you must electronically request them through your Family Connection account. Click on the “Colleges” tab at the top of the page. Next, select “Letters of Recommendation.” Click “Add Request” and then pick the teachers you have requested and select “All current and future colleges I add to my Colleges I'm Applying To list.”
5. Be sure to follow up with teacher/(s) senior year with your earliest college application deadline as soon as you know.
WITHOUT THIS INFORMATION YOUR LETTER MAY NOT BE SUBMITTED ON TIME!
1. Log in to your Naviance Student account: https://student.naviance.com/shorewood
(Your Naviance account is connected to your Shorewood gmail account. Please login using the single sign on option. Do NOT enter a username/password.)
2. To update your e-mail address and other profile information:
a. Click on “Manage my account” in the upper right corner of the homepage.
b. Click on “Manage my profile” toward the center of your screen.
c. On the right of screen, towards the bottom of the personal profile section, you will see a pencil icon next to e-mail. Click the pencil icon to update/add your e-mail address.
3. To do a School Search:
a. Click on the “Colleges” tab at the top of your screen, then on “College Search.”
b. In the advanced college search, you will be able to input criteria that you are looking for in a college/university.
4. To add colleges you are thinking about to Naviance Student:
a. Go to the “Colleges” tab and click on the “Colleges I’m Applying To.”
b. Click on “+Add to the List” and select the colleges you are applying to.
5. To add colleges you are applying to on Naviance Student:
a. Go to the “Colleges” tab and click on “Colleges I’m Applying To.”
b. Click on “+Add to the List” and select the colleges you are applying to or add them using the “Quick Lookup” option.
c. Check the submission status to determine if you can apply online (computer icon), paper application (postage stamp), or with the Common Application (CA)
*The online application the student fills out is not completed on Naviance Student. You must go to the college website or CommonApp website to fill out the online application.
If you still need a Teacher Recommendation - See your counselor for information and follow the steps for Naviance Student below.
Click on your “Colleges” tab.
A. Click on “Colleges I’m Applying To.”
B. Scroll down to Teacher Recommendations.
C. Click “Add/Cancel Requests”
D. Click “Add New Requests.”
E. Click the dropdown menu and choose the teachers from the list.
F. Add any notes to the teacher(s) in the box.
G. Click “Update Requests” - this will send an e-mail to the teacher and will add the request to the teacher’s Naviance Student account. When they have completed the Recommendation, they will mark it as completed and it will show up in your Naviance Student account.
