SSVP-Assist A Student Program (SHC Alumni Conference)
The program usually refers to a scholarship, sponsorship, or support program designed to help students with financial, academic, or personal needs. Here’s the general guidelines the local conference can adapt. (School, Parish, Institution or Community Based)
Program Objectives
To provide financial, academic, and moral support to deserving but underprivileged students.
To promote equal access to education regardless of economic status.
To instill values of responsibility, gratitude, and service among beneficiaries.
To strengthen solidarity between benefactors (Donors – members of the Alumni Conference) and beneficiaries (Students).
Eligibility Requirements
Students applying for assistance must:
be officially enrolled in a recognized school, college, or university.
demonstrate financial need (supported by documents such as income certificates, barangay clearance, or parent/guardian’s proof of income).
show consistent academic effort (maintain a minimum grade requirement, e.g., 80% or its equivalent).
exhibit good moral character and willingness to participate in program activities.
be recommended by a teacher, parish leader, SSVP member, or community representative.
Types of Assistance
Financial Support – tuition fees, books, uniforms, transportation allowance, or stipends. (At least Php5,000 per semester)
Academic Support – tutorials, mentoring, study materials, or access to learning technology.
Personal Development – values formation sessions, leadership training, or Vincentian formation (if faith-based).
Holistic Support – counseling, guidance, and accompaniment.
Responsibilities of Beneficiaries
Maintain good academic standing.
Attend scheduled program activities (orientation, recollections, mentoring sessions, etc.).
Submit periodic reports (grade cards, receipts if needed, reflection journals).
Show respect, gratitude, and accountability to benefactors and program organizers.
When possible, render community service or volunteer work as a way of giving back.
