Shamir High School is a 6-grade high school in Tel-Aviv, opened as recently as September 2020. In September 2026 we will welcome our 6th cohort for the first time, with grades 7-12. Our students consist of students from our designated enrollment area, along with three specialized, region-wide classes: an Olympic sports class, a gifted students' class, and a global leadership class. In addition we have a small special ed class.
"Dream, Plan, Do" is the school's motto. For us, it represents education for entrepreneurship and creativity, while fostering connections with the community, the urban environment, and Israeli society. We strive to develop multi-disciplinary entrepreneurial skills, planning, and execution abilities, in personal, social, environmental, and community contexts. Building on the skills and abilities of our students we rethink educational processes and create connections between different fields of knowledge and between the school and the outside world.
Why?
Our aim is to help develop a healthier society with active and independent thinking members. We wish to better prepare students for a world in which creativity, communication, critical thinking, constant learning, and self-management are critical skills. Additionally, our goal is to create an educational environment where educators act as creative entrepreneurs, engaging in continuous dialogue with both the teaching community and students.
How?
Creating an infrastructure consisting of disciplines such as Hebrew, English, Arabic, Mathematics, Humanities, Arts, Sciences, and Technology.
Offering freedom of choice to students to develop their interests and talents, based on their preferences, abilities, and tastes.
Building a relationship based on mutual respect and constant dialog within the school community.
The school is open Sunday-Thursday, morning to afternoon.
On September 1st, 2021, the school's 2nd year, we entered our permanent brand new building on 7 Stefan Zweig Street in Tel Aviv.
