Please remember to have a pre-observation conversation where the candidate considers areas of strength and growth that are connected to your goals and in-the-moment needs. The conversation should also include specific things the mentor should look out for during the observation. This identification will allow mentors to focus on data collection in these targeted priority areas.
The mentor observation should take place within the first trimester of the school year, and prior to the fall feedback window. The purpose is for the mentor to gain context of the candidate's teaching.
The mentor observation that takes place in spring (halfway point of the Action Research Plan) is recorded as part of the research conducted on the Action Research Tab. Not on the Step 4 tab.
