The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program (SMYSP) is a five-week, tuition-free summer program held on Stanford University’s campus from June 23 to July 25, 2025. Designed for low-income, first-generation high school juniors from Northern California, SMYSP offers an immersive experience focused on science, medicine, and health careers. With a cohort of 24 students, the program provides mentorship from medical professionals, faculty, and college students, helping participants explore pathways to college and future medical careers. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, SMYSP empowers students to become the next generation of health leaders.
The Stanford Medical Youth Science Program combines immersive internships at Stanford Hospital, academic seminars, public health research projects, and mentorship to provide low-income, first-generation high school juniors from Northern California with hands-on experience in health care delivery, public health research, and college readiness.
Open to current high school juniors who are low-income, first-generation students residing in Northern California.

Five weeks (June 23 – July 25, 2025).

Stanford University campus, including hospital internships at Stanford Hospital.

Tuition-free (funded through donations to increase access for aspiring first-generation college students).
