Science 10
Welcome!
Science has to be one of the best things to study, as it helps explain the the world around us. Who doesn't want answers, after all!
It's also a field of study where it's celebrated to be wrong, as we then move further to the "truth". How cool is that. Richard Feynman's quote below, are some of my favourites from him. What a neat person he was.
“We are trying to prove ourselves wrong as quickly as possible, because only in that way can we find progress.”
~ Richard Feynman
Science 10 continues to build upon both the study skills and the academic maturity students need to have to fully understand and appreciate the science around them, and to successfully continue to study specific sciences later on.
Through your Google Classroom, I will share links to the online material and lectures. Please email me if you misplaced them.
I expect excellent communication from you, so to ensure I can be of assistance should you find you struggle with any of the material. Communicating with home about your progress, putting in the necessary time, asking questions and approaching me for help are key steps you must take in order to ensure success.
In this dynamic course, we will focus specifically around these "big ideas":
Biology: DNA is the basis for the diversity of living things.
Chemistry: Energy change is required as atoms rearrange in chemical processes.
Physics: Energy is conserved, and its transformation can affect living things and the environment.
Astronomy: The formation of the universe can be explained by the big bang theory.
Various Resources (a work in progress)!

Stellarium.org is a free open source astronomy program = awesome.
Scale of the Universe This is awesome. Talk about putting things in perspective from big to small.
