Grade 12

MAP (My Action Plan)

It is our expectation during this time that students will keep adding to their MAPs as we believe this is not only valuable to them in general, but specifically at this time, we see it as an important mental health strategy that keeps students connected to their current and future sense of purpose. Completion of the CLE/CLC course is currently required for graduation which is satisfied through the completion of the MAP.

Students are still able to connect with both their CLE teacher as well as their Digital Communications teacher (Elyse Cochrane - ECochrane@sd48.bc.ca) if they have any questions or concerns about their MAPs.

In order to access their MAPs, students need to be logged into their SD48 Google Account - all students should already be familiar with how to do this, but can reach out to their teachers if they need support. Their Digital Communications course is found on the Sea to Sky Online Moodle site (http://sd48.knowplace.ca/ ) and this course is directly linked to supporting them through creating their MAPs with various tutorials and resources. If they are having trouble accessing their Sea to Sky Online Moodle account they need to reach out to Elyse Cochrane for support. Please make sure to be specific in your emails in regards to what issue or question you have, as well as the school you attend and your full name.

Capstone

As of right now, the Capstone is a requirement for graduation. We would like students to keep working on developing their ideas for their Capstones during this time, and please wait for more specific information in the coming weeks. We are looking into some flexible ways that Capstones can happen during the current situation. The following information is taken from the district CLE/CLC site:

Students will create a presentation that demonstrates the skills and abilities they have achieved both within and outside of school as they relate to the competencies. There are multiple examples and levels of what this presentation could look like. Please keep in mind that this is very open-ended and should be student driven. There are multiple levels of accessibility in order to better differentiate for individual students and their needs/abilities. We want to be able to meet all students where they are with their learning, while also encouraging them to stretch themselves in their learning and make their presentation personal/meaningful.

Please note, a student presentation of their completed MAP - highlighting the growth of their competencies in personally meaningfully ways - fulfills the Capstone requirement.

Please feel free to reach out to Sasha McLachlan (smclachlan@sd48.bc.ca) if you have any questions about the Capstone.
