School Council
We aim to make sure that all children’s voices are heard so that our school can be the best it can be!
In our meetings we listen to each other, share ideas, try our best and show respect. We also feedback to our classes after our meetings.
Some of the activities that we do throughout the year include fundraising for Children in Need, getting involved in community projects such as Magor park development, helping out with parent and carer sharing sessions and helping with school projects as they arise.

Shwmae - we are the wellbeing committee. Health and well-being are at the heart of our school life and we promise to work hard on developing well-being in our school and the wider community.
We meet regularly to discuss our ideas and work on different projects that help promote and develop well-being.
This year, our main aim is to develop the ‘Five ways to well-being’ across the school: give, connect, be active, take notice and learn.
We recently planned activities for ‘Anti-bullying week’ including ‘odd socks day’ where all the children and staff in the school wore odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.
Shwmae, Criw Cymraeg ydyn ni! We are a junior organisation and we aim for the whole school to improve the amount of Cymraeg that is spoken. We meet at least once a week where we discuss our ideas on how to continually improve Cymraeg across the school. We recently conducted a learning walk where we have made suggestions on how we can support the teachers in creating a Welsh ethos in their classrooms. Our future plans are to create videos of ourselves reading age appropriate books (including puppets) for foundation children. We currently working towards our Silver award for Cymraeg Campus.

The Heddlu Bach scheme is for 9-11 year olds, and is an opportunity for children to volunteer and collaborate with Gwent Police exploring topics such as: Parking outside school, Crime prevention awareness, Speed monitoring, Anti-social behaviour awareness and damage and littering in the community.
The children who were interviewed and then chosen, will tackle local issues that they have highlighted themselves.
We hope this will help create ethically informed citizens of Wales and ambitious capable learners who contribute positively to their community.
