Year 5/6

Croeso i'r Plaza!

In year 5 and 6, we are preparing for secondary school.  Confidence and independence are important skills that we practice.  We work very hard in all areas of the curriculum and embed our learning in our Plaza sessions.

Plaza time is when we complete work set by our teachers completely independently.  We choose our own level of difficulty and strive to challenge ourselves.

Every week we take part in outdoor learning in our Forest School area, we also have regular visitors, such as Playmakers, PC Finister, the Fire service etc.

Being in Year 6 means children become Peer support.  This is where year 6 support younger children in school and help them to play well.  (This is more challenging at the moment with COVID19)

Then of course in the Summer, we take part in the Year 5/6 Performance - it becomes part of our learning and we build up the whole thing ourselves.  We design the costumes, props, scenery and even work out the costings, as well as the all important performing.

We think the time spent in year 5/6 is very exciting, yet hard work.  Prepare to be challenged whilst having the best fun!
