Hello.  My name is Mrs Somersall and I have been teaching at Undy Primary since 2000.  I completed my final teaching practice here in 1996.  I was thrilled to get a job here, initially covering a maternity cover, and have never left!

I have worked throughout Foundation Phase, but mainly in the nursery.  I love teaching the little ones at the beginning of their learning journeys.

I am married and have two grown-up sons, who also came to Undy Primary. 

Outside of school I love travelling, going on walks with my dog, going to the theatre and am trying hard to develop a love of running!

Hello, I’m Mrs Rhodes, I’ve been working in Monmouthshire schools since 1997 and joined the Undy Primary team in September 2019. 

I have a passion for early years education and child development and my teaching methods reflect this. I believe play is the primary way children were designed to learn and careful planning around the Seasons and Celebrations in the world around us help form the learning that takes place in Reception. I love learning in the outdoors and believe children feel free with no walls or ceilings which allows them to be creative and adventurous in their learning. Play is learning and learning is fun. I’m so passionate about pupil voice and interests and ensure everything I do is inclusive to all.

My family keep me busy at home. We have 3 boys and a girl and they are the centre of my whole world. I believe they have helped shape me into the person I am. There are no rule books for parenthood and it’s good to know I’m on the same learning path as all of you!

Hello everyone, my name is Mrs Summers and I am one of the Year 4 teachers. I have been teaching at Undy Primary School for 13 years now and I love my job! My favourite things are teaching literacy and listening to all the amazing readers we have in this school! I also love Forest School – especially toasting marshmallows!  

At home I have three children and a dog called Gus. We all love reading stories, baking cakes and going for walks in the park.

Hello! My name is Mrs Skellorn and I am one of the Year 2 teachers. I have been teaching at Undy Primary School for 11 years and really like working here. I love teaching and my favourite part about teaching is seeing how much the children progress over the year. They always amaze me! I love singing and use that a lot in my teaching.

I live with my husband and two little boys.. We love going on days out and to the park. When I have any spare time, I love to dance, read and sing.

Shwmae! My name is Mrs Corfield and I currently teach in PS2 - which I love! I have worked at UPS since 2018 in which time I have taught in Year 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6. 

I truly believe that Undy is a very special school and am delighted to be a part of it. Outside of school I love being part of the Magor and Undy community with my husband and two young children.

I have been a teacher at Undy Primary School for over 10 years now and this year will be my fourth year of teaching in year 3. 

I feel very privileged to be a part of our wonderful school and very proud of the amazing children and staff we have here! 

I enjoy teaching all subjects and I love seeing the children progress with their learning and become increasingly independent throughout the year. Outside of school, I am kept busy by my three children and my wife! In my spare time I enjoy running, cycling and climbing.

I have always known I wanted to be a primary school teacher and I feel very privileged to be part of such a fantastic school! 

When I am not teaching I enjoy taking my sausage dog Luna for long walks, travelling and crafting.

Shwmae! My name is Miss Cooke and I have been a teacher at Undy Primary School since September 2025. I have previously worked in another school in the Caldicot cluster where I completed my NQT year. My journey at Undy began as a student teacher and I am so pleased to be back at such an amazing school. 

In my spare time you will also see me volunteering with the Army Cadet Force, I have volunteered for over 9 years and it is something I am very passionate about. 

I feel very lucky to be back in such a fantastic school and I can’t wait to continue my journey in Undy!

Shwmae, I’m Mrs Griffiths and I started teaching in Undy Primary School in September 2020. I came to Undy Primary School myself as a child. It really is a privilege coming back and being able to teach. All the children are fantastic and I feel so lucky being able to teach them. 

I thoroughly enjoy working in the School and being part of such a wonderful team. I love my job and enjoy helping children succeed and being the best they can be. I particularly enjoy Forest School and teaching the children Welsh. In my spare time I love exploring the outdoor environment, going for long walks, baking and I also enjoy being able to get out and go for a long run to keep fit and healthy.

My name is Mr. Jones and I am one of the Plaza teachers at Undy Primary School.  

I live with Mrs. Jones and our two children and little puppy, Willow.  I have taught for nearly 20 years at all ages in primary schools and really enjoy teaching all subjects. I think outdoor learning is incredibly important and a wonderful environment for learning. My favourite time as a teacher is when I look up at the class and everybody is busy and happy with all the children finding things out for themselves: coming up with clever questions to ask.

I enjoy cycling, walking and open water swimming.

I have two grown up children of my own who also came to Undy and they loved our school too! My main passion is teaching Welsh. I love it when children show off their Cymraeg! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family and in particular going out for meals, going to the theatre and of course shopping!

Hello, my name is Mrs Wilson and I have worked in Undy Primary since 2011.  I started off as a 1:1 teaching assistant with a very lovely boy and then I was lucky enough to complete my HLTA course.  I love my current position as I get to work with lots of wonderful children and colleagues.  No two days are the same for me and this keeps me on my toes. I am currently job sharing with Mrs Willis and love the relationships I make with different teams.

Hello, my name is Mrs Channing and I have been working in Undy school since 1984. I started as an NNEB.

I did my HLTA training and after a successful interview was given the post of an HLTA within the school. 

I can’t imagine working anywhere else as this school has become my second family. I have a son who also enjoyed coming to Undy Primary. I love being creative, listening to music and really enjoy the theatre.

Shwmae! I’m Mrs Searle and I’m the ELSA and Wellbeing person in Undy Primary School. I have worked in the School since 2009 and I absolutely love it! Mr Searle’s family have lived in Undy for over 100 years and we moved back here to have our own family. It’s a lovely place to be.

Hello. My name is Mrs Giddings. I am a HLTA at Undy Primary school and have worked here since 2018. I enjoy watching the children flourish as I move up the school with them starting in nursery through to year 3.

I have a two children which in my spare time keep me very busy. I enjoy spending time with my family & friends and can normally be found in the park or on the football sideline.

Shwmae! My name is Mrs Anderson and I have been at Undy School for 10 years in various roles. For the past 5 years I have been a Teaching Assistant in KS2. I work in the Year 5 / 6 plaza and love every minute of what I do, even on the wet, soggy outdoor activity days and craft days with the children.

I have 3 children of my own, one of which lives in Melbourne Australia and a Grandson Archie. I love cooking/baking, going to the gym and I am a World Champion in Dance (many years ago). I most look forward to the year 6 performance where I create the props and scenery.
