School Council
We aim to make sure that all children’s voices are heard so that our school can be the best it can be!
In our meetings we listen to each other, share ideas, try our best and show respect. We also feedback to our classes after our meetings.
Some of the activities that we do throughout the year include fundraising for Children in Need, getting involved in community projects such as Magor park development, helping out with parent and carer sharing sessions and helping with school projects as they arise.

Shwmae - we are the wellbeing committee. Health and well-being are at the heart of our school life and we promise to work hard on developing well-being in our school and the wider community.
We meet regularly to discuss our ideas and work on different projects that help promote and develop well-being.
Some of the activities that we do throughout the year include fundraising for Children in Need, Red Nose Day and Jeans for Genes. We also raise awareness for Show Racism the Red Card and hold events like a Macmillan Cake sale.
Shwmae, Criw Cymraeg ydyn ni! We are a junior organisation and we aim for the whole school to improve the amount of Cymraeg that is spoken.
We meet at least once a week with Mr Edwards and Mrs Lloyd-Baker where we discuss our ideas on how to continually improve Cymraeg across the school.
We recently conducted a learning walk where we have made suggestions on how we can support the teachers in creating a Welsh ethos in their classrooms.
Our future plans are to create videos of ourselves reading age appropriate books (including puppets) for the younger children in our school. We are also working towards our Gold award for Cymraeg Campus.

Shwmae - we are the Eco committee. Our job is to make sure our school is as eco-friendly as it can be. This includes us completing litter picks, ensuring we recycle properly, and ensuring we don’t waste electricity.
We meet every two weeks to discuss any issues we have noticed, and to share ideas about how we can encourage everyone in our school to help become more eco-friendly.
This year we are excited to be working with Monmouthshire County Council on the Mill Common restoration project that is ongoing in our community. We will be helping to plant trees and flowers, and monitor the wildlife in our local area.
The Heddlu Bach scheme is for 9-11 year olds, and is an opportunity for children to volunteer and collaborate with Gwent Police exploring topics such as: Parking outside school, Crime prevention awareness, Speed monitoring, Anti-social behaviour awareness and damage and littering in the community.
The children who were interviewed and then chosen, will tackle local issues that they have highlighted themselves.
We hope this will help create ethically informed citizens of Wales and ambitious capable learners who contribute positively to their community.
The Diversities are a little bit like our own Undy Primay Super Heroes!! The group decided on their group name because they want to be like The Avengers and tackle racism and inequality!!
The group is made up of some of our Global Majority learners and we meet regularly to ensure our school is as anti-racist, diverse and inclusive to all races and religions as it can be.
