Autumn Term September Newsletter 2025
Dear Parents and Carers,
As the autumn leaves begin to fall and the school year gets into full swing, I am delighted to welcome you to our September newsletter. It has been a joyful and energetic start to the term, and I am thrilled to share highlights from the past few weeks.
A Warm Welcome to Our New Pupils and their Families
A heartfelt welcome to all our new pupils who have joined us this September, especially our Nursery and Reception children who are beginning their exciting journey in primary school. It has been wonderful to see their smiling faces each morning, eager to learn and explore. We are incredibly proud of how well they have settled in, from confidently navigating their new classrooms to making new friends and embracing routines. Their enthusiasm and resilience have been truly inspiring. Our older pupils have also shown great kindness, helping their new classmates feel at home. We are in for a fantastic year ahead!
Learning Adventures Begin
Across the school, children have already dived into a wide range of learning activities. The classrooms have been buzzing with curiosity and creativity. All staff have been impressed by the positive attitudes, kindness, respect, and perseverance that has shone through in every corner of the school. Pupils have been working together on collaborative projects, sharing ideas in group discussions, and supporting one another in the playground. We are all excited for the term ahead and look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.
If you would like to get involved in school life, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Warm regards,
Mrs Hooper

Headteacher Welcome - September 2025
Dear Families,
I am delighted to be able to write my first letter as the new Headteacher of Undy Primary School, and feel honoured to be working with such a dedicated and caring team of staff.
I firmly believe in nurturing, strong and meaningful partnerships, and am really looking forward to getting to know both the children and families, welcoming you to what I am sure will be a very busy, fun and exciting time ahead.
Through my many years of experience, I know that a successful and happy school is built upon trust and working together. As parents and carers, you make a vital contribution to your children’s achievements at school and I want to continue to develop the relationship between school and home moving forwards. It is important to me that as a community we celebrate our successes together, and that if you do have any concerns, questions or suggestions, we are approachable and responsive.
Being a mother of two boys, I am very much aware of the responsibility that my staff and I have in ensuring that the highest standards of teaching and learning are achieved, and for children to have the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
Therefore, the needs of the children are always central to decision making and I am passionate about developing the wellbeing and therefore confidence of all. Confidence leads to resilience which leads to excellence. I am committed to providing children with exciting, creative, and meaningful learning experiences that ignite their enthusiasm and support their growth in diverse and positive ways.
You can be assured that, as Headteacher, I am fully committed to providing the very best education for your child during their time with us. Our school is a caring, inclusive community, and I consider it a privilege to be part of your child’s learning journey.
Please do feel free to come and say hello — I’ll be at the school gate before school each day.
I’m really looking forward to meeting more of you in the coming weeks.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs Catherine Hooper.
Headteacher, Undy Primary School.
