In blwyddyn 3 we love to see children become increasingly independent with their learning and the choices that they make.

We have independent learning sessions where children can demonstrate that they can read instructions and use their initiative to complete tasks.

Pupils are guided to make their own choices about the level of challenge they try in sessions to ensure that they progress with their learning, at the same time as feeling confident. There is always a new challenge ready and waiting for them.

Every time we start a new theme, children think about what they want to learn and what activities they want to do. As teachers, we then plan the learning around the children’s suggestions. In this way our planning evolves naturally as the term progresses.

A typical week for us includes:
