Include descriptive, emotive language (using expanded noun phrases)
CHALLENGE: can you include subordinating and coordinating conjunctions?

1) Dexter the dog has 154 bones in his lunch box. When full, his box can hold 499 bones. How many bones has Dexter eaten already?
2) Kasper can fit 255 tomatoes into his basket. If Kasper fills 8 baskets of tomatoes, how many tomatoes will he have altogether?
3) Tickets for the latest film cost £9 each. Your family has £48 saved up. How many of you can go to the cinema to see the film? How much money will there be left over?
4) A family went on a road trip. They drove 2312 miles on Monday, and 3218 on Wednesday. If they drove 7123 miles altogether, how many miles did they travel on Tuesday?
