In Studio Art, students are prepared for a careers in drawing, illustration, animation and more. The Studio Art pathway strand is a three-year pathway with a fourth year option, that can be started as early as 9th grade. In the first year, students learn the foundations of art, principles of design, compositional techniques, how to critique artwork, drawing with pencil and in mixed media, painting and color theory. Students also explore careers in art. Students learn the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator.

Students learn in an environment that has all of the equipment of a full art studio: Laser engraver, heat press, photography and video equipment, iMac Lab, student Adobe Suite licenses, vacuum former, drawing tablets, iPads, illustration and animation apps, and 3D art equipment including a modern kiln.
